Save on Southwest, restaurants, clothing stores, Gamestop, and more

eBay is offering a number of discounted gift cards today (Thursday, 3/29/18). These can be a good way to save on merchants where you know you’ll spend money or to help meet minimum spend on some cards.

The Deal

Quick Thoughts

While the days of 5x on these cards with a Chase Ink card are long gone, these discounted gift cards can still be a good way to save money at places where you know you will otherwise make purchases. Taken in moderation, they can also be a good way to get in a few bucks toward minimum spend requirements. Here are links to some of today’s notable deals:

$100 Cabela’s for $80
$100 Meijer for $94
$100 Lowe’s for $90
$100 Gamestop for $90
$100 Southwest for $90
$50 JCPenney + Bonus $10 for $50
$50 Chili’s for $42.50 (don’t forget your free chips & salsa or drink)
…and more — click here for all of today’s eBay gift card deals

While you can’t earn 5x, I believe that these purchases may still be earning 3x on the AT&T Access More card. With Avianca’s favorable award pricing (See: Avianca LifeMiles’ awesome mixed-cabin award pricing. First Class for less) and recently announced reductions on a number of routes (See: Avianca LifeMiles award chart changes), ThankYou points have become more interesting to me as of late, which would make the Access More card my payment method of choice (though I don’t have a recent data point on gift card purchases with it).
