Hilton Q4 2019 promo

That’s because although the promotion offers double points as standard, Hilton Honors members who pay with a Hilton Amex credit card will earn triple points. Negative Hilton status match changes: No instant Diamond, more nights required

Hilton has today announced changes to its status match program. Unfortunately, the news is not good: effective today, Hilton no longer offers a direct match to Diamond but instead requires you to match to temporary Gold and then meet a minimum number of nights to keep Gold or upgrade to Diamond. While that makes sense from a loyalty perspective, it’s a bummer for those who planned a future match, especially those who had their sights set…

Does it ever make sense to spend on a Hilton card?

Over the weekend, my wife and I found ourselves in a situation where we could generate a lot of spend at very low cost. That particular opportunity isn’t the subject of this post. Unfortunately, we didn’t have access to our entire portfolio of cards, so we looked for bandwidth where we could find it. We happened to have a Hilton Aspire card on us. Would it make sense to spend on that card to generate…

Why Gary is nuts not to even consider Hilton

Earlier today, Gary Leff at View from the Wing published a post titled, “To Everyone Leaving Marriott for Hilton: You’re Nuts.“. I respectfully beg to differ — while I often enjoy Gary’s take on things, I can’t agree with him here. In short, I think Gary’s nuts to consider Hilton a non-starter. Lucky at One Mile at a Time beat me to the punch as to several of the reasons why I strongly disagree with Gary,…

The best hotel credit card ever

What is the best hotel credit card there has ever been? If you’d say the old SPG card, I’d have been with you until the early hours this morning. If you’d have said the Hilton Aspire to me yesterday, I might not have argued with you much. And if you’re ready to call me a soulless shill for the credit card companies when I tell you that it is neither of those cards, just do us…

Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach: Great stack of Aspire benefits & a great hotel

Last week, I wrote a post about the great customer service I received recently at the Conrad Fort Lauderdale. It wasn’t just the service: the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach is a great hotel and makes for an excellent stack of Hilton Aspire benefits and a current Amex Offer – though hindsight being 20/20, I could have done even better than I did. Along with redeeming points for one room for five nights, my wife and…

(EXPIRED) More new Hilton spending offers: rack up easy points

Over the past week or so, Amex has been sending out some excellent targeted spending offers on all of the personal Amex Hilton cards (the no-fee Hilton Honors card, the Hilton Ascend card, and the Hilton Aspire card). Yesterday, we reported on a spending offer for Amazon. Today, a reader shared another interesting offer for 20K points after $2K spend that could be repeated twice and our own Stephen Pepper received an offer to earn a…

(EXPIRED) Extra 10x Hilton points at Amazon [Targeted]

American Express is sending out emails to Hilton Honors credit card holders (on various versions of the card) to earn an extra 10x on purchases at Amazon.com on up to $500 in purchases by 1/29/19. That’s not a bad offer if you’re looking to load up on some Hilton points. Note that this may be targeted, but we have received it on the no-fee, Ascend, and Aspire cards. The Deal Earn an extra 10x at Amazon (in addition to…

When everyone is Diamond, is anyone Diamond?

Earlier in the year, when the Amex Hilton Aspire card began offering Hilton Diamond status to anyone willing to pony up the $450 annual fee, a reader commented to say “When everyone is Diamond, no one is Diamond.” I understood what he meant: the more people who have status, the less special/exclusive it is. I checked out of the Conrad Fort Lauderdale yesterday afternoon and I’ll say this: I don’t know whether it was my Diamond…
