(EXPIRED) 30% transfer bonus from Diners Club to British Airways Avios

This is certainly a niche transfer bonus, but if you have the Diners Club card, you can get a 30% transfer bonus when trasnferring to British Airways Avios througb March 31, 2018. The Diners Club card was only briefly available for applications a couple of years ago and they shortly thereafter ran out of plastic stopped accepting new applications. It has been unavailable for a couple of years, but some still have the card from that brief window…

Loyalty alchemy. Turn Amtrak coal into United gold, and more…

One of the things that has long fascinated me about points and miles is the fact that great opportunities are sometimes opened up by the ability to convert points from one program to another.  When Marriott bought Starwood and made it possible to convert SPG points to Marriott at a 1 to 3 ratio, I totally geeked out about the many possibilities this raised.  For examples, see: Marriott SPG Complete Guide to Sweet Opportunities Marriott…

Manufactured spending To earn miles through spend, you should start…

How to earn 1.8 SPG points per dollar, or 5.76 Choice points per dollar

The Diners Club card is back.  This is a credit card with a long and interesting history (read details at View from the Wing, here).  I’m interested in all new opportunities to earn points and miles, and this one has a few very interesting aspects: Points are transferrable to a number of airline and hotel programs. The Elite version of the card ($300 annual fee) offers 3 points per dollar at gas stations, drug stores,…
