Enjoying and Maximizing Discover Cashback

I can’t believe I’m writing this, but at the moment I’m enjoying my Discover Cashback more than any other rewards currency — more than airline miles, more than hotel points, and more than transferable points like Chase Ultimate Rewards or Amex Membership Rewards. I earned a boatload of Discover Cashback a while ago when they ran a few outrageously generous promotions.  For example, when they first offered to double all cash back for a year…

[Expired] Target: 15% off site-wide, stack with Discover 5% or RedCard 5% (many exclusions)

Target.com is offering 15% off site-wide (though beware of many exclusions). This is one of several Cyber Monday deals that we’ll be posting this morning, so be on the lookout for more deals to be added. As an example deal at Target, I found this 3-pack of Nest security cameras for less than I remember seeing them advertised elsewhere on Black Friday when you consider the 15% discount: In the cart, those drop to $380 before…

20% off small appliances & other kitchen @ Best Buy

Discover is offering 20% off  regularly priced “small appliances” at Best Buy with coupon code DISCOVER20NOW or SAVEONSMALLSNOW. I have “small appliances” in quotation marks because the code works on a number of items that aren’t necessarily small appliances — it seems to apply to kitchen items that aren’t major appliances (i.e. pots & pans, robotic vacuums (not Roomba), and some kegerators). Some items become pretty good deals with the code. The Discover code terms state that you must…
