Amazon and Discover are out with a new promotion offering $10 off your next order when you change your 1-click payment setting to a Discover card. This promotion appears to be targeted, but I was able to force it to show up (even after it initially said I wasn’t targeted) by following the steps below (courtesy of Doctor of Credit). The Deal Save $10 on your next eligible Amazon.com purchase (on items shipped & sold by Amazon) when you change your 1-click…

[Expired] Target: 15% off site-wide, stack with Discover 5% or RedCard 5% (many exclusions)

Target.com is offering 15% off site-wide (though beware of many exclusions). This is one of several Cyber Monday deals that we’ll be posting this morning, so be on the lookout for more deals to be added. As an example deal at Target, I found this 3-pack of Nest security cameras for less than I remember seeing them advertised elsewhere on Black Friday when you consider the 15% discount: In the cart, those drop to $380 before…

20% off small appliances & other kitchen @ Best Buy

Discover is offering 20% off  regularly priced “small appliances” at Best Buy with coupon code DISCOVER20NOW or SAVEONSMALLSNOW. I have “small appliances” in quotation marks because the code works on a number of items that aren’t necessarily small appliances — it seems to apply to kitchen items that aren’t major appliances (i.e. pots & pans, robotic vacuums (not Roomba), and some kegerators). Some items become pretty good deals with the code. The Discover code terms state that you must…

No more Discover double up on referrals

Discover has sent an email to some card holders advising of an unfortunate change in its referral program: beginning on January 1, 2018, the $50 bonus for referring a friend or opening a new account will be paid as a statement credit rather than as part of your cashback bonus. Furthermore, you’ll be limited to earning $500 a year from referrals. Here’s the full email:     Unfortunately, that means the referral/new account bonus will no longer double at the…

At the same time, I stumbled on a deal for $5 off for downloading the Amazon app on my wife’s account which may stack. I discovered the initial $10 offer while checking out a deal that I ultimately bought — a new convertible crib for $79 after the credit (which was $193-$200 in…
