Finding extreme luxury in Hyatt Premium Suites

How would you like to book a 3,294 square-foot Presidential Suite for 16,000 points per night?  How about a two bedroom, 3 bath Diplomat Suite with club access to a private beach for 10,000 points per night?  Or how about a two bedroom Ambassador Suite that includes a private butler for only 24,000 points per night? This isn’t made up stuff.  Remember my recent post about Luxury in Budapest?  There I showed an example of…

Stay in a castle with Hyatt points (SLH is a nice win after all)

When the Hyatt / Small Luxury Hotels of the World partnership formed last year, I said I wasn’t excited. That was mostly because I think it set up Hyatt to introduce a new category since some SLH properties currently cost 40K Hyatt points per night (more than anything on the Hyatt award chart, with top properties like the Park Hyatt New York or Tokyo costing only 30K per night) — but also because I said…

Luxury in Budapest starting at 8K per night, and suites at 13K [Sweet-spot spotlight]

A couple of weeks ago a reader alerted us to this unique opportunity.  Coincidentally, Travel is Free identified the same opportunity in his data driven look at Hyatt.  After massive renovation of a historic shopping arcade, the Párisi Udvar Hotel Budapest has recently opened.  And it looks amazing.  Prices generally run over $350 per night.  Luckily, this is a Hyatt hotel so we can pay in points.  Even better, the Párisi Udvar Hotel is a…

New Hyatt properties: a reminder of an old trick

Last week, I saw that Miles to Memories reported that a couple of new Hyatt hotels recently became available for booking — and while your travel plans might not take you to either of those specific hotels, the situation reminded me of a good piece of information to keep in mind when you run into a hotel trying to game the Hyatt system: when there is a standard room available for booking with cash, you…

Extra 500 Hyatt points per night at select properties

Hyatt is offering an extra 500 bonus points at select properties for stays between May and July or August 2019 (dates vary a bit by property). From the promotion landing page, it sounds like Hyatt intends to update the list periodically. It’s always great to earn some extra points, but this one could be especially nice since it should stack with the current Hyatt promotion good for 1,000 bonus points per night (plus 500 extra for Hyatt…

From zero to hero on the status-match-go-round

We recently posted both here on Frequent Miler and in our Frequent Miler Insiders Facebook group asking readers about topics they’d like to hear about. There were some awesome suggestions that I’m looking forward to covering. One topic that came up a couple of times was status matching. Today I’m not going to cover a complete guide to status matching, but rather a current opportunity to start from zero and end up with useful status…

Hyatt Has Improved Its Best Rate Guarantee Scheme

Hyatt Best Rate Guarantee

Hyatt has announced immediate changes to its Best Rate Guarantee scheme and, unlike some hotel loyalty scheme “enhancements”, this one appears to be a change for the better. Before today, Hyatt’s Best Rate Guarantee offered a match to the room rate you found elsewhere, along with a $50 credit to be used towards a future stay. That $50 credit had an expiry date of one year, so the policy was neither particularly rewarding nor overly…

Update: Hyatt Globalist fast track challenge now with landing page

Update: There is now a public landing page. See link under “The Deal” below. YMMV — you still need to work for a “qualifying company”, but there isn’t a list. It’s probably worth trying if you have a corporate email address. Apparently, Frequent Miler doesn’t count. H/T: Deals We Like Hyatt is offering some members a targeted fast-track offer to get temporary Explorist status for 90 days with paths for status through February 2021: complete 10…
