iConsumer offering double cash back through March 31

Through 3/31/16 iConsumer is offering double cash back and double shares on purchases made between now and midnight (Central time) on 3/31/16.  Important Note: The doubled rates are already shown on the iConsumer site. For example, if a store shows 10% cash back, then it most likely used to be 5% but was doubled to 10%. You will not earn 20% cash back in that example. iConsumer isn’t offering double cash back for all stores,…

Sears and Kmart offering 100% back in points on many items

This week, Sears and Kmart are offering 100% back in Shop Your Way Rewards points for many items.  Points do not roll (that means that you can’t pay with points and get points back), but you can roll gift card credit into points.  For details of why you might want to do this (even if you’re not interested in these items), see: Roll gift cards into points for triple rewards. To find the 100% back…

Sears Quintuple Dip Results, and why I should have bet more on Discover

Sears Quintuple Dip

In December, I published “A fantabulous but risky quintuple dip.”  Those with Discover It cards that were enrolled in the Double Cashback promotion, had an amazing opportunity for Extreme Stacking. At the time, all of the following deals could be stacked together into one mighty Sears Quintuple Dip: Through December 25th, Sears and Kmart were offering a $20 bonus gift card when you buy a $100 gift card (or a $10 bonus when you buy…

Introducing Extreme Stacking (and our new Lab Manager)

Extreme Stacking

The other day I wanted to use one of my 1800Flowers gift cards to send flowers to a friend.  And, believe it or not, I couldn’t remember the best current promo code to use for the order.  So, I hunted around this website to find my latest posts about 1800Flowers and then scanned through to find the promo codes.  It occurred to me then that it would be great to have one place to go…

What happened to GiftCards.com?

GiftCards.com Missing from Portals

UPDATE 2/21/2016: Portal Rewards are Back Recently, GiftCards.com became the place to buy Visa gift cards.  With Simply Best Coupons offering 1.5% cash back and iCoupons offering 1.6% cash back, one could get back all of the purchase fee and most of the shipping fee when buying $500 Visa gift cards. Now, though, if you look for GiftCards.com on Simply Best Coupons, you’ll see that they aren’t offering any cash back: I found the same…

Can iConsumer really deliver cash + shares? My interview with iConsumer’s founder.

iConsumer

A new cash back portal, iConsumer, made a big splash last month by offering some of the best cash back rates around.  Some examples include: 8% cash back for Ebay (briefly 16%!) and 32% cash back for 1800Flowers. Many of those great rates were due to a Double Cash Back promotion (which I wrote about here) that ended January 30th. Beyond a few excellent cash back rates, the really interesting thing about iConsumer is that…

Referral links are back. Here’s why.

Referral links

I started this blog in September 2011 as a hobby.  I was terrifically excited about the travel hacking “game” and I wanted to share it with friends and family.  A couple of months later, I learned about credit card affiliate links.  I didn’t know it at the time, but my application to join an affiliate network was my first step towards turning my hobby into a career. Affiliate links work like this: through an affiliate…
