Delta SkyMiles sheds SkyPeso moniker

Delta SkyPeso

For years, View from the Wing has teasingly referred to Delta SkyMiles as “SkyPesos.”  And the Delta SkyPeso term has caught on, so much so that many people use the term without explanation.  Given that Amex is currently giving away oodles of SkyMiles through their temporarily increased credit card offers, I figured that it was time to weigh in on whether Delta SkyMiles still deserves this title… Compared to its main rivals at the time…

2015 predictions revisited. Are we near the end of the SkyPesos moniker?

2017 miles & points predictions

At the start of the year, in the post “Predictions for 2015, 83.3% guaranteed,” I reviewed my predictions from 2014 and published new predictions for 2015.  The title of the post came from the idea that 5 out of my 6 2015 predictions had come true.  It turned out though that I was wrong: the one prediction I had thought was wrong was actually right.  So, I really scored a perfect 100% for 2014 predictions. …

As we head into the weekend, there are a number of things on my mind… Shopping portal holiday bonuses A number of shopping portals are offering bonuses for holiday shopping: AAdvantage eShopping (10X): Through December 2nd, earn bonus miles for cumulative spend as follows: 750 miles for $75 spend, 1,500 miles for $150 spend; and 2,500 miles for $250 spend.  This works out to an extra 10 miles per dollar if you spend exactly the…

An Analysis of the Platinum Delta SkyMiles credit card

I previously wrote an analysis of the Delta Reserve credit card.  In that post I pointed out that the Reserve card has an excellent rate of return for daily spend (about 3 cents per dollar) if you are a very big spender and can hit the $30K or $60K bonus levels (Note that starting 1/30/20 you will no longer earn bonus miles with this benefit).  That card also has a very steep annual fee ($450)…
