- Nike 21X: 21 miles per dollar for United MileagePlus cardholders; 16 miles per dollar for others
(also use coupon code: FALL25 for 25% off clearance items) - Kohls 6X: 6 miles per dollar for United MileagePlus cardholders; 3 miles per dollar for others
You do not have to pay with your United card to get the above rates!
And for everyone (cardholders or not):
- BackCountry: 10 miles per dollar
- Finish Line: 12 miles per dollar
- Omaha Steaks: 15 miles per dollar
- Under Armour: 12 miles per dollar
Don’t forget that United is also offering one-time 1000 bonus miles for cumulative $350 spend through September 9th (details here).
Also, via the Frequent Miler Laboratory, several people have reported that both buying and using e-gift cards from Nike results in miles earned.

-Earn 1000 bonus miles (assuming you haven’t already taken advantage of that portal promo)
Total miles earned: 8,350
Cost (not counting sales tax): $175
Cost per mile: 2 cents
I wouldn’t buy United miles at that price speculatively, but if you want to buy $175 worth of shoes or whatever anyway, that’s an awesome deal.
