South African Wine Country on Marriott points: Protea Hotel Stellenbosch Dorpshuis & Spa

As Greg pointed out when introducing me, I am currently on a round-the-world trip — after all, we collect these miles and points with the intent to use them. I think Greg hit the nail on the head when he said that hoarding and cherry picking is the way to go.  I hoard various currencies and then look to maximize the value of my points through strategic redemption. British Airways Avios 35% bonus when transferring hotel points

British Airways is offering a 35% bonus when converting hotel points in British Airways Avios. Who is eligible for Marriott’s Elite Status Buy Back?

Marriott Elite Buy Back 2017

Now we have a new fire drill.  The standard offer for the Ritz Carlton card has dropped from 3 free nights after $5,000 spend to 2 free nights after $4,000 spend.  Fortunately, links to the previous 3 night offer are still…

Marriott elite status

Thanks partially to the Marriott SPG merger, meaningful Marriott status (Gold or higher) is easy to get.  Simply sign up for an Amex Platinum card (personal or business) and enroll in the SPG Gold status benefit. Then link your Marriott and SPG accounts and viola, you are a Marriott Gold elite.  Other options include spending $30,000 on a SPG credit card, or signing up for the Chase Ritz Carlton card. 3 things to do once…
