Amex has launched a 25% transfer bonus when sending Membership Rewards points to HawaiianMiles. With this bonus, 1,000 Membership Rewards points will get you 1,250 HawaiianMiles. While availability can be tough to come by on long-haul flights from the continental states, those who can find flights will be happy to save some points. Another decent use of this bonus is for inter-island flights. As always, we have added this to our list of Current point transfer bonuses.
- 25% transfer bonus from Amex Membership Rewards points to HawaiianMiles
- Valid until June 26, 2018
Again, availability is tough to come by from the mainland, but if you can find the lowest level it should be 20K each way in economy class — which means just 16,000 Membership Rewards each way. I just now searched a bunch of dates and I was seeing 60K one-way in economy class and 130K one-way in business. It’s just not easy to find Hawaiian saver availability, but if you can find it, enjoy the ability to pay even less with this transfer bonus.
Another potentially good use of the miles could be inter-island flights. Those flights run 7500 miles + $5.60 one-way at the saver level (which is much easier to find).
That would be 6,000 Membership Rewards points with this bonus. With those economy class flights running $103 most days, you’re getting the equivalent of about 1.62c per point with this sale. That’s not bad – especially considering the fact that I was looking for inter-island flights just the other day for a trip next year and they were pricing out at more than double via the Chase and Amex portals vs booking on Hawaiian. Six thousand miles and $5.60 isn’t bad (just be aware that iner-island flights do not come with free bags unless you buy business class).
