There is a new targeted Chase Offer out good for 5% back at Food Lion, up to $3 back. While that isn’t a huge offer, it stacks nicely with those Chase cards that are already earning additional points at grocery stores in May and June.

Keep in mind that Chase Offers are triggered by the first qualifying purchase, so you’d have to spend $60 in one shot on the first transaction after syncing in order to get $3 back.
I didn’t actually get this on any of my cards, but I’m not surprised since I don’t live in an area with Food Lion. Hangingwithfred on Reddit posted the screen shot so I imagine those with Food Lion nearby might find this one in their online accounts. As noted at the top, you’ll hopefully receive this offer on one of the Chase cards offering additional points for grocery store spend.

The purpose of Quick Deals is to report deals both big and small. We offer Daily and Weekly subscriptions for those who want less email or instant for those who want to be notified of everything. I’m not aware of an easy way to do what you’re looking for. Do you find it time consuming to scroll past the deals that aren’t relevant to you? If so, you might want to try the daily email instead. I meant this mostly in jest, there was an emoji in my original content. A post for deals of this scale doesn’t really seem worthwhile, that’s all.
I understand what you mean. I don’t go out of my way to save three bucks, so I get what you’re saying.
At the same time, if I’m going to focus on whether I should earn 4x on the Amex Gold or 5x on the CSR or 6x Marriott or 12x Hilton Aspire at the supermarket this month, all of the thought put into that kind of debate would be for naught if I were going to Food Lion and ignored the chance to save that three bucks. A $60 purchase at 5x is only earning a few bucks in points to begin with, so if I can save $3 more, all the better.
This deal will be particularly relevant for those who have 5 or 6 or 8 Chase cards and find it on all of them as it makes a GC purchase all the more worthwhile. I imagine you’d agree that an offer for an instant savings of $15 on $300 in VGCs at Staples is worthwhile since you can stack with a Chase Ink Cash and earn 5x. With a deal like this Food Lion one, if you had it on 5 different Chase cards you could simply split payment over 5 cards ($60 on each) and get the same $15 back on $300 in GCs. Given the fact that you could do that with a single VGC at the grocery store with a likely activation fee of $5, it would be a more profitable deal at $9 in profit plus your (hopefully increased) CC rewards. Or perhaps just buy a Food Lion GC and lock in $15 in savings on future purchases.
Like I said, I wouldn’t go out of my way to find a Food Lion to use this offer, but for those who regularly shop at Food Lion, it’s worth checking and adding. Again, I don’t focus on hitting every three dollar deal, but the ones I do add up over the course of a year.
Good points, absolutely. Not saying I never chase $3 deals either, particularly if there is some way to scale!
