Overview

The The Blue Business Plus Credit Card is the only card offering transferable points and 2X rewards for all spend. That's fantastic. And, it has no annual fee!

Card Advantages

  • No annual fee.
  • 2X Membership Rewards points everywhere. Enough said.
  • When paired with The Business Platinum Card from American Express OPEN, you can use points to purchase flights at a value of 1.5 cents per point thanks to the Business Platinum pay with points rebate.
  • If you cancel all other Membership Rewards cards, your Membership Rewards points will stay active and still transferable to airlines.
  • Signing up for this card does not impact your 5/24 count.

Card Disadvantages

  • This is a credit card, not a charge card, so it is subject to Amex's limit of 5 credit cards per person.
  • 2X earnings are capped at $50K spend per year.

Isn’t it a bit bizarre that this no-fee card earns more reward points than their premium cards? How is THAT a sustainable business model?

Perhaps the fact it is limited to $50K@2 pts makes it more sustainable than, say the business plat which gives a .5 point bonus for purchases over $5k. Max bonus 1M points. Total exposure much less

$50k limit is a huge bummer. Was getting excited until I saw that massive letdown.

With the $50K cap, that makes the 0% first year APR pretty useful for MS, since you can stop spending at $50K and use whatever your credit limit is as float for the rest of the year, just pay minimum payment each month. It’s a business line so shouldn’t hurt your credit.

The deal-breaker for me with this card would be the 2.7% foreign exchange fee.

What happened to the 20k sign up bonus? Did I ‘blow the bunny’ somehow? (not as naught as it sounds – it’s a phrase my dad used when I would miss a layup in basketball)
