Avianca Lock and Fly: flexibility for a fee

Avianca Lock and Fly is an interesting program feature from Avianca LifeMiles that debuted earlier this year. One of the benefits of learning about foreign transfer partners is that many foreign programs feature low change or cancellation fees. While US-based carriers will charge those without elite status hundreds of dollars to cancel a multi-passenger itinerary, some foreign programs charge nothing at all. Avianca LifeMiles used to feature very reasonable cancellation fees, but they increased those…

JetBlue: no cancellation fees for flights purchased 2/27-3/11 for travel to 6/1

In a move that should get someone in the marketing department a big raise, JetBlue has announced that new tickets purchased from 2/27/20 until 3/11/20 for travel completed by 6/1/20 will incur no change or cancellation fees — even for Blue Basic fares (JetBlue’s equivalent of basic economy). To be clear, you won’t get a refund if you cancel — you’ll get a travel credit that is presumably good for a year from the date of booking and…

Business class from 42K points / $638 one-way from Europe to the US on TAP Air Portugal

In yesterday morning’s post (Turkish miles: 45K each way for business class to Europe [sweet spot spotlight]), I noted how you can fly to or from Europe in business class for 45K miles each way on Star Alliance carriers. However, it’s worth noting that you can sometimes use a flexible currency like Chase Ultimate Rewards to fly one-way from Europe to the US in business class on a paid ticket for about the same number…

Marriott escapes: up to 25% off many properties

Marriott has released its latest list of “Escapes” properties (which include countries all around the world, though I only highlight US properties below), with cash rates discounted up to 25%. While I normally don’t put a lot of stock in these discounts because it is hard to know if “regular” rates were jacked up to compensate, I happen to have an upcoming trip to New York City and have been checking rates daily (sometimes several…

Turkish miles: 45K each way for business class to Europe [sweet spot spotlight]

Turkish Miles & Smiles has gotten a lot of attention over the past year thanks to the incredible sweet spot we uncovered for domestic awards (See: How to book United with Turkish Miles & Smiles miles). However, Turkish has another awesome sweet spot in its award chart that is worth a look for those planning travel to Europe: 45K miles one-way in business class on Star Alliance carriers to and from Europe. You’ll want to…

Now up to 25 free stocks w/ targeted WeBull investing offers

Update: We previously posted this about a month ago in January 2020. Last week, Doctor of Credit reported new targeted deposit bonuses and then I received another big deposit bonus offer. I don’t think my new offer is worth it, but I figured it was worth reporting for readers who are tracking offers like these. In the previous post (re-published below), my offer was for 20 free shares of stock after a $10K deposit. I made…

$20 off $250 in Southwest Gift Cards from Giant Eagle online

Supermarket Giant Eagle is offering $20 off when you buy $250 in Southwest Airlines gift cards through 2/26/20. While this 8% discount isn’t the best deal on Southwest gift cards (we occasionally see them on sale for 10% off of face value), it could still be useful for those triggering a category bonus and/or who can use Giant Eagle fuel points as I believe you’ll earn those with these gift cards. The Deal Giant Eagle is offering $20 off…
