Etihad Guest miles no longer expire with activity

Etihad Guest announced some changes to the Etihad Guest program today. One particularly good piece of news was the announcement that Etihad Guest miles will no longer expire if you have activity once every 18 months. Transferring points into your account should count to refresh the expiration date. That’s a nice change over the previous policy that expired miles after 24 months. This makes Etihad Guest miles more appealing as a store of value. Etihad…

Hilton is offering a 100% bonus on the purchase of points when you buy 10,000 or more points. New United Mile Play offer: check the United app (travel by 1/31/20)

United is out with its latest Mile Play promotion, whereby you can earn bonus miles for completing a minimum number of trips. These offers are targeted and likely to be different for everyone. Last quarter, I had an incredibly generous offer (I needed to book 3 trips of $250 or more to earn 23,000 bonus miles). This time around, my offer is much less generous, but since I have a bump voucher from one of my recent flights…

Best ways to get to Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific using miles from the US

Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific are bucket list destinations for many travelers at least in part due to distance and expense. It makes sense that many people would look to use airline miles to offset the cost and to perhaps fly more comfortably for the long journey. Unfortunately, the popularity of the region means demand is very high and therefore award space can be hard to come by (particularly in premium cabins). However,…
