chase business checking bonus

Chase bank bonuses are normally targeted, however currently there is a way to generate a coupon code that will give up to $500 for opening a Chase Performance Business Checking account.

The Offer

  • Get $500 when you open a Chase Performance Business Checking® account and deposit $500 within 10 business days of account opening, and maintain that balance for 60 days.

Key Terms

  • Checking offer is not available to existing Chase business checking clients, local, state or federal Government entities or agencies, Not for Profit organizations, Political Action Committees, or those with fiduciary accounts, campaign accounts, or whose accounts have been closed within 90 days or closed with a negative balance.
  • You can only receive one business checking account- related bonus per calendar year.
  • Bonuses are considered interest and may be reported on IRS Form 1099- INT (or Form 1042-S, if applicable).
  • If the checking account is closed by the client or Chase within six months after opening, we will deduct the bonus amount for that account at closing.

Get a Code

To generate a unique offer code, click this link and login to your Chase account. (You must have a Chase login of some sort.) Your code can be used in-branch to open your accounts through September 13, 2016.

“A $20 monthly service fee is waived when you maintain a combined average daily balance of $50,000 or more in linked business savings (excluding Client Funds Savings accounts), business CDs and other Chase Performance Business Checking® accounts. Monthly service fees cannot be waived on Chase Performance Business Checking® with Interest accounts.”

The fee is not charged the first two months and you can downgrade after receiving the bonus.

oh thanks. what kind of account can you downgrade to that does not charge a fee?

The basic account has a $10 fee which can be waived if you maintain a $1,500 minimum balance.

There is a minimum number of months you have to wait before you can downgrade and that’s longer than two months. They’ll pull the $500. Here’s the fine print from Chase:

“Account Closing: If the checking account is closed by the client or Chase within six months after opening, we will deduct the bonus amount for that account at closing.”

Shawn: We can convert this to Chase Total Business Checking before the six months?

Assuming that you need to provide the business ID in order to open up a business account?

So you get a 1099-INT for $500 and you have to pay $20 per month for 6 months or they clawback the bonus. If your marginal tax rate is 35%, then this “$500” bonus is only worth $200.

You can actually convert the account to a Chase Total Business Checking after the bonus posts and can have the fee waived with a $1,500 minimum balance or else the fee is $10. The monthly fee isn’t charged the first two months.

Terms also say:
“Account Closing: If the checking account is closed by the client or Chase within six months after opening, we will deduct the bonus amount for that account at closing.”

Thank you. I looks like it will be two years without $1k before anyone can benefit from the bonus.

It seems like there is some sort of error with the system they are using to generate codes. I would just wait a day or two and hopefully it will fix itself, but I am seeing the same error that you are unfortunately.

Yes, I used it today. All above info from editor is correct. The codes are iffy tho – I downloaded one and printed it, and when the bank rep tried to use the code it told him the # had already been used. So, I got a new code (same link from this page), and that one worked! Great deal!

Code worked for me a few days ago, but only the second one. First try was rejected as already used, and by then the checking account was actually opened. Branch staff advised me to return with a fresh code the next day, and surprisingly everything worked out on the $500 bonus, but I was nonchalant. That’s because I received pre-approval for the Ink Cash after the checking account application was successfully processed. That was my actual goal (well, the Ink Plus was the goal, but the Cash was very nice itself). I’m a Chase customer with a DBA and a FEIN, both with a few years on them, solid credit and no 5/24 trouble, but I have not actually conducted any, you know, business — and the way things worked out, I wasn’t asked if I had. I’m pleased as punch. Oh, and there’s a 30K UR signup bonus on the Ink after $3K spend in 90 days, aka, 45K UR points if you want to be inadvisably focused on category spend.

[…] If possible, deposit at least $10,000 with Chase (this can be all in one account or spread across several).  And, you might as well earn $500 while doing so. […]
