Quick Thoughts

There still aren’t that many restaurants participating in most areas I’ve visited, though I’m currently in Augusta, GA and I’m seeing a couple of options in addition to the standard Five Guys and Tropical Smoothie that I see in most places.

Keep in mind that Chase has also renewed its previous offer to get a $10 meal credit when you use Chase Pay at restaurants 3 times during February (with a minimum order of $5 each time), so this order can get you a third of the way there.

While I probably won’t take advantage this time around, it’s good to see Chase continuing to offer up some free grub in exchange for using Chase Pay. I just wish they’d spend some of their budget on expanding its acceptance.

[…] of Chase Pay’s recent one-day discounts have only been for use within a certain timeframe (e.g. from 5-6pm). This one is good for all of February 14, so you’re not restricted to only using it for […]

In my experience, the transaction does not count towards one of the 3 times during January, if the final amount is lower than $5 using this deal. I have 2 transactions over $5 in January, and 1 transaction below $1 using this happy hour deal. No $10 credit until I made another $5 purchase. At that time, $10 credit showed up immediately in the app.

I tried to use Chase Pay in a little diner in rural Texas and the waitress said, “You want to chase what, honey?”

Lauren

Hmmm, not seeing the offer anywhere in my app right now. Wondering if it’s currently showing up for others?

John Wang

I don’t see it either.

Only selected merchant, like five guys, etc.

Anyone have an idea if this ‘Happy Hour’ going to be a semi regular promo?

I’m also seeing promos for $5 off first chase pay use (I downloaded it today) and an additional $5 off first visit to certain restaurants in my area. So stacking with the 3x feb offer is good for a few free meals.

QR use seems kinda clunky and weird – not sure that’s a long term replacement for something like google pay (w/ 4.5% back from USBank Altitude). I guess QR gets around new hardware for each mobile payment method. I’m all for getting discounts from companies trying to gain market share.
