Chase Pay: Save 15c Per Gallon When Using Phillips 66, Conoco Or 76 Apps

Chase announced last summer that they’d be closing the Chase Pay app early on this year. Although the app will be no more, Chase Pay’s functionality remains and they’re continuing to run promotions to encourage people to use it.

They’ve launched a new promotion that’s partnering with three different gas stations – Phillips 66, Conoco and 76 – to offer 15c off per gallon when paying with Chase Pay within the apps for these gas stations.

Chase Pay Gas

The Deal

  • Save 15c per gallon when using the apps for Phillips 66, Conoco and 76 and checking out with Chase Pay.
  • Direct link to offer.

Key Terms

  • Expires March 31, 2020.
  • Max 30 gallons per fill-up.
  • This offer cannot be combined with any other offer, discounts or coupons and does not apply to Tap and Pay transactions.

Quick Thoughts

This is a pretty nice offer seeing as it’s good on up to 30 gallons at a time. It can also be used as many times as you like until the promotion ends on March 31, so you could certainly rack up the savings if you’ll be driving a lot over the next couple of months.

The Chase Freedom card is earning 5% on gas this quarter, so that would be a great card to pair with this offer. It might also be possible to stack with the GetUpside app if Phillips 66, Conoco or 76 gas stations near you are participating gas stations. Your additional savings with GetUpside wouldn’t be too much though as when you take advantage of other discounts such as this, they reduce the amount of cashback you earn. Still, there’s no point leaving money on the table if it’s available.

I’m not familiar enough with Phillips 66, Conoco or 76 to know if they offer additional discounts when you’re a member of their reward scheme (or if they even have one). For example, Shell offers Fuel Rewards members 5c off per gallon per fill-up, I think you earn points with Exxon that can be redeemed for savings off future fill-ups, etc. If they do offer additional discounts, that should stack with this offer too.

The process of using Chase Pay within the gas apps is fairly straightforward:

  • Open the app and tap Pay
  • Choose ‘Pay At Pump’ and select your pump number
  • Select Chase Pay as your payment method
  • The app will provide you with a four digit code which you’ll enter at the pump
  • Fill up and save

Let’s hope we continue seeing these kinds of Chase Pay promotions.
