(EXPIRED) Discounts on Southwest, gas, Lowe’s – stack with Freedom 5x

Ebay has a number of gift card deals available today on popular brands. Here’s a roundup of what’s still alive at the time of writing – (keep in mind that PayPal is a Chase Freedom 5X category this quarter):

Quick Thoughts

Ten percent on Southwest comes around often, and it’s always great when you can save 10% on airfare. That said, keep in mind that if you pay for your airfare entirely with gift cards, you will give up credit card trip protection benefits. Furthermore, you lose out on opportunities to earn 3x or 5x when using credit cards that earn a good bonus.

The six percent off on gas gift cards might beat out credit card rewards, though there have been a number of good Amex Offers lately that would beat these savings (including 10% back at Exxon Mobil on up to $1K, so I wouldn’t get too excited about 6% off unless you’re stacking it with this quarter’s Freedom 5x for PayPal payments.

The Lowe’s gift cards can certainly be a good deal if you’re looking to stock up and save on a home improvement project — though see that same post about the Exxon Amex Offer as there is also an offer for 10% back at Lowe’s (those offers are only showing up on Amex business cards). Still, stacking 10% with Freedom 5x would make these a deal.
